Western New York Paralegal Association
The Western New York Paralegal Association, Inc. (WNYPA) is a voluntary, nonprofit association formed in 1976 to promote the professional development and continuing legal education of paralegals in the Western New York area. Over our forty-year history, the Association has worked toward its additional goals of maintaining high ethical standards for paralegals, educating the Western New York legal and business communities in the effective utilization of paralegals, and promoting consumer awareness of the role of paralegals within the legal system.
Adrienne has been a paralegal at Goldberg Segalla LLP in their downtown Buffalo office since 2001. Prior to her employment at Goldberg Segalla Adrienne has worked at various law firms throughout the Western New York area. Adrienne has over twenty-five years of extensive legal experience. Adrienne's diverse skill set includes working on United States and International product liability matters, regulatory compliance reporting, complex insurance defense claims and personal injury actions.
Adrienne has been an active participant and member of the Western New York Paralegal Association since the early 1990s. She was Co-Chair of the Litigation Specialty Group in the mid-1990s and is currently acting as Co-Chair for the 2018-2019 fiscal year. Adrienne enjoys being involved with promoting mentorship, professional development and continuing legal education to the paralegals in the Buffalo-Niagara region.
In her spare time, Adrienne is an avid cancer advocate by encouraging and promoting positive lifestyles for cancer patients and their families. Adrienne enjoys cooking, traveling, attending concerts and sporting events with her family.
We are pleased to have Adrienne and Sue Ann Sarra Co-Chair the Litigation Specialty Group. The topics and speakers chosen for these meetings have been very well-received and attended. Our thanks to Adrienne and Sue Ann for their efforts in bringing the Litigation meetings back.
Buckfire & Buckfire PC Paralegal Scholarship
Buckfire & Buckfire PC out of Michigan has announced their first annual scholarship program which is is open to paralegal students enrolled in a 2019 semester.
The scholarship will award $1,000.00 to one student selected bytheir selection committee.
Applicants must meet the following criteria: US Citizen currently attending a paralegal education program with in the US, have completed at least one semester of the program with a minimum 3.0 GPA
Application Requirements include: Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application form and a 500-750 word typed essay describing their goals, how they how to achieve them and any adversity you may encounter reaching these goals. Essay is to include your degree/major, why you chose it and how it will help achieve your goals.
Deadline to apply is October 1, 2019 and the scholarship will be awarded on November 1, 2019.
